Just as your environment, ambience, interior of your house, your friends and family, movies, success and achievement, all create a feeling of warmth and tenderness all around you, similarly, colours can be used in different ways to have the same feeling of warmth. Life is all about happiness, cheerfulness and warmth that can be spread through various means.

You can create a feeling of warmth by cooking a nice meal, giving a nice gift or by decorating your house. Without colours, life would have been extremely boring and dull, and we would not have been familiar with how different colours can help us build varying moods and feelings.

Every colour has its separate importance in our lives. Without the dull shades, we would have never been able to appreciate the brighter colours. If you want to create a feeling of warmth with the use of colours, use red, orange and green more. There is no restriction on the usage of colours, because each person has his or her own preferences and maybe a different colour such as blue or pink helps him or her create a feeling of warmth.

Colours are associated with different meanings, and they might have different meanings in different cultures. But, red, orange and green have the same meanings all over. Red is associated with passion, enthusiasm and warmness. It is a colour of love, and therefore, you would see almost everything in red on 14th February, i.e. the valentine day. You will witness people giving red flowers to each other, wearing red outfits and wrapping their gifts in red papers. Even to create a feeling of warmth and affection, recreation places are decorated with red balloons, red paints and red ambience.

This red colour feeling is not limited to this particular occasion, but people use red colour in other things and on other occasions too, to create a feeling of warmth. They paint one side of the wall in their room red or add red cushions, a red lamp or a red carpet to create some kind of warm feelings. Entering a dull coloured room will definitely change your mood in not a positive way, while on the other hand, entering a room with the right mix of colours including red will create cheerful feelings, making you sit in that room for long.

Also, when it comes to moods, colours have an affect of their own. They create a certain atmosphere that either uplifts one's mood or converts it into sadness. Colours like red, green, pink look lively; blue, white, black have an aura of suspense and gloom, orange and yellow have a vibrant and zealous quality. It is due to the impact of various colours that people make a selection for different rooms in their house to create that atmosphere of ease.

Green is the colour of nature and is associated with an atmosphere of peacefulness and quietness. Offices are generally painted in off-white and cream colours because these colours give a sophisticated look. Pink is widely considered as a girlish colour, and hence is used in girl's accessories, toys, bags and rooms. Shades of brown are commonly used in study rooms and green is widely used in living and sitting rooms. Right use of such colours in your homes, offices and surroundings will surely create a feeling of warmth. There are plenty of stories, articles and reading materials available on every colour and their meanings. But nothing is genuine with regard to emotions being decisively attached to colours. There are several beliefs of people regarding colours which might confuse you. Therefore, just stick to the colours that appeal to you and give you a feeling of warmth.
